据宁光介绍，中国—上合组织代谢性疾病合作中心将承担医学援助、医学培训、技术分享与转移、产业技术交流等任务。未来3年内，中心计划为上合组织培训2000名代谢性疾病防控专家，实现500项医疗技术在区域内分享，并倡议成立“上合代谢论坛”，进一步推动上合组织卫生健康领域的交流合作。
